A long time ago I set up a root password for the MySQL server. Now in time of need I don’t remember it. It’s time to do some searching and hacking and figure out a way to successfully recover the password.

Amanda is starting to learn php and MySQL. She needs something more visual than notepad, which is what I use, to learn coding and make sense of it. So, now I’m looking for a web based php editor. So far I have found phpanywhere.net

Cyberciti has a great to the point MySQL root password recovery tutorial. It can be done in minutes.

By the way, spending couple of minutes browsing Cyberciti I see that it has great articles on Linux and other technology and open sources related topics. I would definitely recommend this site, as a resource for the previously mentioned topics, to others.
